Mancat Meezer Monday: Merlin

Merlin here!  So yesterday was bath day.  I do not like being bathed, but I was getting quite dirty, so sadly, it was time for a bath.  As I don't like being bathed, only my body was washed.  My ears and toes were not touched - those will be done another day, as my mom and dad don't like to stress me out too much at once, especially since I have cancer.

Be sure to visit us on December 22nd, which will be my 9th Gotcha Day!  We will have a big party that day!

Mancat Monday

Merlin here!  Thank you to everyone who commented on my post yesterday, and for all your continued purrs, prayers, and positive thoughts.

Today, since it is Mancat Monday, here is a photo of Dragonheart and I curled up on the bed together yesterday.  Devi was with us to start, but when our mom grabbed the flashy box, she took off.  Silly girl.

Mancat Monday: Dragonheart's Report

Hello friends!  Dragonheart here.  As those of you who follow Merlin's Facebook page know, we made it safely to our new city, and are now in a hotel until October 14th.  It's another suite, but this time it's just one big room, except for the bathroom, with a separate living area, kitchen area (with fridge, microwave, and just an element to cook on).  We are quite comfortable here, except that the hotel internet is the slowest and spottiest we've ever experienced.  We do have a mobile hotspot, but it is very expensive to use, so my mom is mainly using it for things like job applications and online banking.

Anyhow, our mom and dad bought me a new toy - it's a YEOWW catnip toy, and those are my favourites!  But, as you can see in the photo below, Devi, the toy hog, was trying to move in on it!  She is such a big toy hog.  You can see Merlin watching her try to take my toy!

Anyhow, our dad had to go to work today, but our mom is with us in the hotel, although she'll be going out for a run later.  She's busy looking for work as a registered dietitian, and in the meantime she's doing a lot of digital scrapbooking.   If you would like your own digital scrapbook pages create, check out the information here.  The money raised by making digital scrapbooks will help pay for Dragonheart's CT scan, which is not covered by pet insurance.

Moody Mancat Meezer Monday

Hello friends.  We are sorry we haven't been posting or visiting recently, but our lives have been very chaotic!  We moved into a hotel on Saturday, so that our house could be deep cleaned before being staged and put on the market.  The internet at the hotel is not very good, so we are struggling to get online!

Our house is put on the market today, and then offers are being held until Thursday morning.  Hopefully our mom and dad will have at least one good offer on Thursday, so that by next weekend we can move back into our home until our actual move to our new city.

We aren't very happy at being confined to a hotel room, but at least it's a suite, albeit a small one, so we have more room than we did when we were confined to the master bedroom and ensuite.  Still, we miss having an entire house to run around in.

We hope all our friends are doing well.

Mancat Meezer Monday: Merlin

Hello friends!  Merlin here.  Life is very strange at the moment.  We are currently confined to the Master bedroom and ensuite while some people called "painters" are here working downstairs.  We aren't very pleased with this situation.  We do have our mom and dad keeping us company, so that's something at least.

For Mancat Monday, I have some photos of me enjoying some wonderful valerian-infused toys that our wonderful friends at Pikku Punapippuri sent to us!  We have't had any valerian since we left Germany in 2010.  Many thanks to Äiti, King Punapippuri, Veikko, and Seppo for the wonderful toys!  We greatly appreciate them.

Those of you who follow me on Facebook will have already seen these photos, but, due to the "painters" we don't have access to the other photos of us enjoying the toys at the moment.

Once again, many thanks to King P and the rest of the gang at Pikku Punapippuri, and of course, Äiti, the one with the thumbs who is able to mail stuff.  As you can see, we love the valerian!  It is even better than catnip we think!

Mancat Monday: New Cardboard Scratcher

Hello all!  Dragonheart and Merlin here.

So on Saturday, after coming home from seeing A Chorus Line at the Stratford Festival (they got a really good deal on tickets: only $15 each!), our mom and dad brought us a new cardboard scratcher!

It's a very cool scratcher!  It has a toy in the middle (a different one on each side), and it wobbles!

We think it is lots of fun to play with!

Mancat Movie Meezer Monday

Hello all, Merlin here!  This Monday we have a movie for you.  You can see that I'm a very good brother.  Dragonheart is older, but that doesn't stop me from taking care of him.

Our mom is finally done with all of her graduate class work, which is good.  However, she still has five more weeks of clinical practicum placement, which is a full-time position.  She also needs to commute there, and it's an hour an twenty minutes away.  So her days are very long.  Since she doesn't have any more class work, she will have more time to help us visit our friends, but we still may not get around to everyone every day.  We'll be visiting some, though, as it is good relaxation for her to spend time with us on the computer after her long days.  She learned a lot in her first week of practicum placement and looks forward to learning more.  For the curious, she is completing a Master's of Public Health in Nutrition & Dietetics, and will be a registered dietitian at the end of it all, assuming she passes the Canadian Dietetic Registration Exam when she writes it in November.

Merlin here!  So if you are on my Facebook page, you know we got a new cardboard scratcher on the weekend when our old one died and our mom found a new one on sale.  Devi and I checked it out yesterday.

Mancat Meezer Monday: Grooming

Grooming is very important.  I like to find a warm sun spot to groom.  

My silly humans still try to bathe me every couple of weeks, despite the fact that I'm perfectly capable of grooming myself, as I demonstrate here.  They say it's because we Sphynx accumulate oil on our skin, because we don't have any fur for the oil to distribute itself through.  That may be true, but I still don't like being bathed.  I do like grooming though!

We are sorry we haven't been posting and visiting our friends as much as we used to. Our mom's laptop is giving her some grief at the moment when trying to make blog posts or visit other blogs. We hope to have this sorted out soon!
