Photo Hunt: Old Fashioned

PSHunt

Old Fashioned

This week's theme was hard for us, because we Sphynx are the opposite of old-fashioned! We are still a fairly new breed - the first Sphynx was born in 1966. Also, we are indoor-only cats, so we don't have any old-fashioned toys (ie. real mice or other animals). Our food isn't old-fashioned either - Dragonheart eats prescription venison food, and Merlin eats 100% organic, 100% hormone-free, 100% antibiotic-free, and grain-free food. So, we aren't old-fashioned at all.

Finally, we found this photo in our humans' photo collection. They were in Prague in March 2007 to run a half-marathon. This is a photo of the Astronomical Clock in Prague. And old-fashioned way of telling time! (Although quite modern when it was built in 1410!) You can find more information on the Astronomical Clock here.

The clock is amazing, so advanced in its time and so historical for these times.

Best regards to your humans.

We can't tell time, but it's a lovely clock just the same... as for old-fashioned: you two are thousands of year "old"... being "sfnxx" and you are among the most beautiful, elegant, treasured and majestic creations of society.

That's an amazing clock - and a great choice as 'old fashioned' - at almost 600 years old it has to qualify.

Even though the Abyssinian breed isn't a new breed, we don't have any photos of early Abys. The oldest one we have is one of my Great Great Grandma and she looks just the same as any of us now... So I'z picked one of My Mummy's photos too! :)

Our Mommy loves the clock. She likes old fashioned things. We had trouble with the theme too. We wound up with a paper sack. Apparently some OLD FASHIONED grocery stores still use them. The Grandparents send some home when the folks visit.

Oh yes, you two are much too up-to-date to be considered old-fashioned in any way!
You managed to find a very interesting entry though - I didn't know of that clock.

That is a beautiful clock. Our mum once had a penfriend from Prague and she came and visited her in England. It was in the 60's when Czechoslovakia was invaded, and her penfriend had to cut short her stay and go home quickly.Mum never heard from her again. She often thinks of her and hopes every thing turned out all right.

Wow, that is really cool. Mom wants to go read all about it, but we made her write you first. Mom says you can be a new breed and still have old fashioned values, like being the nice gentleman cat that you are.

Wow, built in 1410 and it can still tell time! Is it like a cuckoo clock where little figures come dancing out of the top windows??

Arriving in Prague in the Winter was like a dream come true for me as to gaze across the snow covered rooftops was like something straight out of a fairy tale...
Right from the moment I took my first walk around the old town in the evening mist of my first night, I instantly felt as though I had been swallowed up by its astounding history from its first founding just over a millennia ago.
We booked a room in Prague hotel right in the center of the Old Town - wanting to be close to everything. The old town square is simply breathtaking, presided over majestically as it is by the town hall and the dominating presence of the monolithic Church of Our Lady before Tyn. A short five minute walk from the square has you standing on the banks of the Vltava River gazing in awe at the medieval masterpiece of the Charles Bridge - in fact the only thing that can possibly tear your eyes from this visual feast is the simply stunning presence of Prague Castle and St Vitus Cathedral standing proudly watching over the city on the opposite bank.
And that is just the beginning of visual treats that Prague has to offer... :-)
