Did you know that Sphynx toes are special? We Sphynx frequently use our toes like fingers, catching and grabbing things with our toes. According to the Cat Fanciers' Association Sphynx breed standard: "Paws are oval with well-knuckled toes; five
in front and four behind. The paw pads are thick, giving the
appearance of walking on cushions." The TICA breed standard for Sphynx is similar: "Feet: Medium in size, oval shape
with long, slender toes. The paw
pads are thicker than in other breeds,
giving the cat the appearance of
walking on "air cushions". The toes
are very long, slender and prominent."
Sphynx paws are also described as webbed, something you can see a bit more easily in this old photo of Dragonheart as a kitten, even though it's a bit blurry, or in the photo of Devi playing below it:

Our toes do need to be cleaned regularly. Because we have no fur for oil to distribute itself through, oil builds up on our paws, toes, and claws, just like it does on the rest of our skin. Our claws, in particular, accumulate "black gunk" which is basically oil combined with dust, litter dust,

Dudes, this is tricky!!! #2 we are pretty sure is Devi, #1 we think is Dragonheart and #3 is Merlin but we'd not be surprised if that's wrong! And we can vouch for those webby, waxy paws! Seppo and Veikko do not like having their feet cleaned of gunk. Thank you for a very informative post - it is very good to educate the world on the delights of Nekkids.
By the way, I meant to say that Äiti is supporting Iceland, and Germany in the Fussball. Her mother was German and she just got into the habit of supporting them. But after being so embarrassed to be English (because of Brexit) she was shouting for Iceland last night! They are our nordic brethren.
That is some great information, kitties, especially we know you and a few more of IG who are Sphinxies. We love your paws, have no idea which belongs to whom, but we give it a try. 1st Merlin's Paw..no make that Dragonheart, 2nd Merlin and third Devi's.. Wow, you guys have the coolest toes! Has there ever been a sphynx that's also a polydactyl? Probably not. We'll take a wild guess and say #1 - Merlin, #2 - Devi and #3 - Dragonheart.
We are going to guess: 1.Dragonheart 2. Merlin 3.Devi
We knew that their toes get gunky because rexes can have excess oils too (mostly in their ears though which need to be cleaned weekly!)

Devi is first then Merlin then Dragonheart I think. I learned about black gunk and your toes.
Mum got so confused we told her to give up as we wanted out dinner!
