Wordy Wednesday

Hello friends!  Today will be a wordy Wednesday, as we will catch you all up with the news on our end.

All three of us under the blanket we brought with us to the hotel

So the photo above was all three of us curled up under the comfy blanket we brought with us to the hotel.  We would never have white sheets at home!  They would quickly become stained with our Sphynx oils, even when washed regularly.

The good news is that our house sold!  So we are back living at home until the movers come to pack things up on September 26th.  Then we will be living in hotels in our current city and our new city until we take possession of our new home on October 13th, although we won't move in until the 14th.

All three of us in a row on the bed
If you read our recent news, you will know that Merlin just celebrated his 9th birthday (on September 2nd) and 7 months with cancer (on September 4th).  Merlin is continuing to do well, although he is vomiting bile and having loose or bloody stools on occasion.  Still, he continues to eat (thanks to the prednisolone which gives him an appetite), play, and behave perfectly normally.  He's a little stressed right now because our dad had to report for duty in the new city yesterday, September 6th, but he will be home on the weekend, so that's good.  Basically, he will be spending weekdays away from us in the new city and weekends home with us, until we move.

Dragonheart is unfortunately starting to chew on his gum hyperplasia mass again, so he may need to return to the vet sometime this week.  Hopefully all he needs are some more painkillers, until we can get him in for a CT scan after our move.

Devi is doing well.  She was on a low dose of prednisolone daily for two weeks, which seems to have cleared up her eosinophilic granulomas.  She is now tapering off the prednisolone, taking one pill every other day, while continuing to eat a venison and green pea allergy wet food formula.

Our mom continues to look for a job as a registered dietitian in our new city, now that she has completed her master's degree.  Unfortunately, there don't seem to be many dietitian positions open in our new city.  She's applied for all the jobs she's seen posted, but none of them have called her back.  She's also going to apply for PhD programs, which would start in the Fall of 2017, if she is accepted to do a PhD.

In the meantime, she is thinking of starting a digital scrapbooking for hire business, as she needs to do something to keep herself busy besides help us blog!  Is this something any of you would be interested in?  She is thinking of charging $10 per page for up to 4 photos, and $15 a page for 5 or more photos on a page (you would get either a 12"x12" or 8"x8" page suitable for printing, as well as a web-friendly version), and if you wanted her to use a specific kit that she does not own, you would need to pay for the kit as well (but she already has lots of kits, including some cat-specific ones).  You can see her full gallery of pages (beyond the ones we've shared here) at GingerScraps.  She can also do non-pet-related pages, as you can see from her gallery.  If this is something you think you might be interested in, please email us!  Thanks!

We hope all our friends are doing well, and are excited that we can visit you again!  We will try to get around to everyone who has visited us recently, but if we miss you, we apologize!  Sometimes the linked names in the comments don't let us find the blog they came from easily, especially when it's a Google+ comment.

We are so pleased to see you all again as we had missed you so much. Happy belated birthday wishes for you Merlin. Please don't keep chewing your gums again Dragonheart as this will only make them very sore. We hope you are going on well Devi and get to eat venison which sadly we've never been given. Take care friends.

Thank you for the update - you are so busy. Although we love the thought of whites sheets (and so des Äiti) we all know everything is better with fur and sphynxie oil! Good luck for all the changes ahead.

Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed update. It's good to get all your news, although we wish there were simply no health issues at all.

We just love the pic of all of you under the blankie. We will cross our paws that the transition will be smooth to your new home/city. It's always stressful to change locations like that.

Purrs,
The Chans

Boy, do we understand that last paragraph! We have a time trying to find blogs on G+. Sometimes to the point we give up on even visiting some blogs because it is so time consuming just to figure out where they are on G+.

We are glad things are moving along and that your dad will only be gone weekdays for a time instead of every day until you move. We hope everything goes smoothly and your mom finds an appropriate to her skills job she loves.

It sure sounds like you are all keeping perfectly busy! Although I know it will mean a couple of weeks in hotels, I am so happy that your house sold and that you already have a new one lined up. You will all be so happy with this change, I'm sure! And I am so glad to hear that all of you adorable kitties are doing well overall (despite keeping your mom and dad and vet busy - but you sure are worth it!). Many purrs to all of you!
