Frootbat Friday: Devi

Hello all!  Devi here!  Today is Frootbat Friday, so I want to share my marvellous ears with you!

I have very expressive and flexible ears!  My ears move around a lot.  In fact, my ears are so flexible that they sometimes fold over on themselves and stay that way for a long time, as you can see in these photos!

Isn't that cool?  Do any of you have such flexible ears?

Moody Mancat Meezer Monday

Hello friends.  We are sorry we haven't been posting or visiting recently, but our lives have been very chaotic!  We moved into a hotel on Saturday, so that our house could be deep cleaned before being staged and put on the market.  The internet at the hotel is not very good, so we are struggling to get online!

Our house is put on the market today, and then offers are being held until Thursday morning.  Hopefully our mom and dad will have at least one good offer on Thursday, so that by next weekend we can move back into our home until our actual move to our new city.

We aren't very happy at being confined to a hotel room, but at least it's a suite, albeit a small one, so we have more room than we did when we were confined to the master bedroom and ensuite.  Still, we miss having an entire house to run around in.

We hope all our friends are doing well.

In other news, two more weeks for our mom's clinical practicum!  Then she'll have a week off, where we can catch up with all our friends, followed by 12 weeks of a research practicum, which will be less intense than her clinical practicum (we are hoping she will be able to work from home a couple of days a week, which will be nice).  As always, we visit as much as we can, and thank you for visiting us, as well as for your prayers and purrs.

Just under a month until daddy is home now!

Frootbat Friday: Devi

Devi here!  So yesterday my dental went very well.  I was nice and warm the entire time and my temperature didn't drop while I was under anaesthesia.  The x-rays they took showed that my teeth were all healthy, I just had a LOT of tartar on my molars.  But the vet cleaned off all that yucky tartar and now my teeth are nice and clean.  My mouth felt a little weird afterwards - I didn't want to eat any wet food at the vet's.  But when I got home I had some of my favourite pâté food.

As you can see in my photo above, I have frootbat ears.  I like the way the sun shines through them.

As always, thank you for your purrs, prayers, and positive thoughts.  We are sorry we aren't visiting friends much during the week, as our mom is crazy busy with her practicum.  But we do try to visit everyone on the weekends.  If we miss you, we are sorry!

Believe it or not, I have a Star Wars connection:  I am a descendant of the Jedi!

You see, my sire (my cat daddy) was Champion HairNSkin Obi Wan Kenobi!  Yes, the great Obi Wan himself!

Happy Star Wars Day everyone!

Oh, and today is a special day for Merlin:   He has now outlived his prognosis!  Yay! Thanks for all the prayers, purrs, purrayers, and positive thoughts.  We greatly appreciate them!

Three Months Since Merlin's Cancer Diagnosis

Merlin here!  It is now three months since I was diagnosed with aggressive large cell lymphoma of the GI tract.  That means tomorrow will be a very special day:  I will have outlived my prognosis!  That is, I will have lived longer than the amount of time the internal medicine veterinary specialist gave me to live.

So, we are hopeful that I will make it until my daddy comes home in five weeks.  I will be so happy to see my daddy again.  I miss him very much.  It will also be much easier on all of us if he is home when it's time for me to say goodbye.

I am still doing pretty well.  My mom has only noticed a few changes in me.  I'm more flatulent (gassy) than I've ever been.  My stool, which had firmed right up when I started my medications, is a little soft again.  I'm still eating plenty, but I've become a little fussier about what I eat.  I'm playing a little less, but that might be because Devi is a toy hog.

I'm still purring, grooming, cuddling with my siblings, demanding cat grass, and pretty much acting normally except for the few things mentioned above.  I'm still taking my medicine like a good boy.

Thank you all for your purrs, prayers, and support.  Although it would be wonderful if I would exceed all expectations and make it was past my dad's return home, we will all be very happy if I make it at least until then.  I have to sign off now, because my mom's eyes are starting to leak.  We love all of you, my friends!

Fabulous Frootbat Friday

Hello all!  Devi here.

Thank you to everyone who came to my birthday party yesterday!  I feel incredibly loved.  Thank you so much for all the birthday wishes!  If I haven't gotten around to thanking you personally yet, I will by the end of the weekend.

Next Thursday won't be quite so enjoyable.  I have to go to the vet for a dental.  Yuck.  Last time they tried to do a dental on me, my temperature started dropping, so they woke me up and warmed me up as a precaution.  This time the vet is prepared to have everything pre-warmed for me, so it hopefully won't happen again.  Being a petite lady-cat, and not having any fur, I guess I'm susceptible to getting cold easily!  Our vet has an excellent plan in place, so we are confident I'll be fine when I have my dental next Thursday.

Thanks again for all the birthday wishes.  You are a wonderful group of friends!

Tuxie Tuesday: New Camera

Dragonheart here!  So our mom's old camera died.  To be fair, she's had it since 2007, and it travelled to Egypt twice, Rome twice, throughout Europe, on an Eastern Mediterranean cruise, across Canada and back twice, so it has done a pretty good job.  But it finally died, so she needed a new camera.
