This week, we will share the answers to two memes with all of you!

First up is the name meme!

Dragonheart:

1. There are only a few human foods I like: salmon, milk in the bottom of a cereal bowl, and vanilla ice cream.
   
   
2. I love to dig and dig and dig in the litterbox, yet half the time I end up not covering, despite all the digging.
   
   
3. I like to lick the lotion off of my mom's hands.
   
   
4. I follow my mom around from room to room. When she goes upstairs, I follow her. When she comes back downstairs, I follow her too.
   
   
5. I love to burrow! I like to burrow under the covers when I sleep with my humans in bed at night, I like to burrow under the fleece blankets that are laid out on the futon in the family room for us, and I like to burrow under a fleece blanket when I'm curled up on my mom's lap.
   
   
6. I love having my head rubbed, but afterwards I shake my head and my ears made a very cool noise as I'm shaking my head back in forth. When I shake my head, my humans say I'm getting rid of the "human cooties" after they've given me a good head rub.
   
   
7. I like to wake my dad up in the morning by very gently tapping his face with my paw. If he doesn't respond, I get my face very close to his and breathe on him.
   

Merlin:

1. Despite the fact that we cats are supposed to be obligate carnivores, I like to eat plenty of different foods! I like to eat animal crackers, Digestive biscuits, cheese, Ritz crackers, sandwich meat, popcorn, fruit smoothies, and of course, fish. In fact, my humans say that I like to eat anything edible. They call me a four-legged stomach and they are always reminding me that I'm supposed to be an obligate carnivore.
   
   
2. I love to chew and attack cardboard.
   
   
3. I love to play! If my humans aren't paying enough attention to me and I want to play, I start to meow (and I have a very loud voice) or else I do things that I'm not supposed to, like jumping up on the table, or attacking the list of emergency contact numbers by the phone.
   
   
4. I love to give my dad head-butts and rub my face into his face! I particularly love running at warp speed across the room and launching myself onto his chest, then rubbing my head all over his face! It's so much fun!
   
   
5. I have a fun game I'll play with my dad: When he's busy working or playing on the laptop, I jump into his lap, rubbing my head all over his face, or walking all over the computer. The minute he puts the laptop down and starts paying attention to me, I stop paying attention to him. This is a really fun game!
   
   
6. Although I don't like being bathed, I do love playing in the bathtub! Attacking the shower curtain is lots of fun, and licking up any water left in the bottom of the bathtub is fun too (although my humans always yell at me to stop doing those things).
   
   
7. I love to purr! I'm almost always purring. You don't even have to touch me, you just need to approach me, and I'll start purring. I even purr at the vet's! I purr when Dragonheart grooms me, I purr when one of my humans pets me, I purr when one of my humans approaches me. If I'm not asleep or busy playing, I'm probably purring!

Cats on Tuesday: An Award & A Meme

Dragonheart: Katz Tales tagged me for the "3 New Things" Meme.

1. Merlin is now the same size as me, and he actually weighs a little more, since he's stockier than I am. So, despite the fact that we have two sleeping bags, when he decides to crawl into a sleeping bag with me, I get crushed.



2. I have rediscovered the joy of playing with my catnip cigar! It's a great toy!



3. Dreamies are now available here in Germany. They are very much like Temptations, but are slightly different. We have some Temptations that friends have sent us, and they are a little larger and a slightly different colour from the same flavour of Dreamies. But they are very, very similar. They probably had to change the formula slightly to make them available in the EU, since there are strict regulations concerning the production of all animal food here. We aren't fed the Dreamies very often, due to my food allergies, but we do receive them as treats after we've had our ears cleaned or our claws trimmed.

Frootbat Friday & Memes

Dragonheart: Yes, Merlin is essentially the same size as me now! We are pretty much the same size when it comes to length, but Merlin weighs a little more than me, because he is stockier. As our humans say, I'm built more like a distance runner, and Merlin is built more like a hockey player.

The nearest book is our mom's Anatomy and Physiology textbook. Since she's studying to be a physiotherapist, it's always right here, next to her desk and the computer.

We've been tagged for the middle name meme. We actually don't have "real" middle names. Our registered names are HairNSkin Dragonheart and MiracleLove Bijan, so we'll use our cattery names to do this meme.

H - Hairless and Handsome! As a Sphynx, I'm a hairless cat! I'm also handsome - my human mom is always telling me how handsome I am.

Real Name: I have two real names. My registered name is HairNSkin Dragonheart (HairNSkin is the cattery name of my breeder). The name my humans call me is Dragonheart.

Named Dragonheart because: My breeder has themes for all of her litters. The theme for my litter was "Fairy Tales." She therefore chose to name me Dragonheart. (The theme for my sire's litter was Star Wars Cats, and so he was named Obi Wan Kenobi, and his littermates were Han Solo, Skywalker, and Yoda.)

Real Name: Like Dragonheart, I have two real names. My registered name is Miraclelove Bijan (Miraclelove is the cattery name of my breeder). The name my humans call me is Merlin.

Named Merlin because: My breeder names all his cats after perfumes. My humans weren't fond of the name "Bijan", so, before they met me, they tossed around a couple of names that they thought might suit me, including Merlin, Ramses, and Yoda. They both like Merlin, since it went well with Dragonheart's name, and since our mom is a huge fan of the King Arthur legends and stories. When they met me, and spent some time with me, I told them that Merlin was my name. It suited me, and so Merlin became my name.

Nicknames I like/tolerate: Dude, Psycho, Psycho Kitty, Psycho Kitten, Little Guy, Purr Machine, Purr Meister (Meister is German for Master), Adorable, Cutie, Cutie Pie, Streaky (the Super Cat), Crazy-Kitty, Crazy Kitten, Trouble, Verrückt,

Cats on Tuesday: Merlin's Meme

Merlin: Tripper; Pearl, Bert & Jake; and Artsy Catsy tagged Merlin for the 7 Random/Weird Things About Me Meme. So here are 7 Things about me, Merlin.

1. I LOVE to purr! I purr at the slightest touch! Sometimes I start to purr when someone (either Dragonheart or one of our humans) just gets close to me! Or when my humans are putting food on my plate.
   
   
2. I LOVE to play! My favourite toys include feather wands, squeaky mice, and trackballs. When I'm playing or running around, I frequently bounce up and down. I bounce onto things, and then back off.
   
   
3. I am a real cuddlebug, just like Dragonheart. I LOVE to cuddle. My favourite spot to cuddle is in one of my humans' laps. At night, I like to cuddle up next to one of the humans, or tucked into an armpit. When there isn't a human available, I love to cuddle with Dragonheart. The best cuddling of all is when both of us are in one of our humans' laps.
   
   
4. I am teething, so I love to chew on things. My humans have sprayed bitter apple on the various cords that are exposed, so that I don't hurt myself. I have a couple of teething toys that are good for chewing, plus cardboard boxes are good to chew, as are some of my other toys. My humans only keep "safe" toys out for me to play whenever I want to. Other toys are played with under supervision only.
   
   
5. I like to eat animal crackers! One of my humans holds an animal cracker out for me, and I nibble at it, a bit at a time.
   
   
6. I don't like being separated from Dragonheart. When he was sick, and I was confined to the kitten nursery, I would stand at the door and meow and whine. One of my humans had to stay in the nursery with me so that I wouldn't throw myself against the door.
   
   
7. Unlike most Sphynx, who have very short hair on their ears, my ears are totally naked, except right around the edges! Like all Sphynx, I have fur on the bridge of my nose. I also have a little bit of fur on my scrotum (goodie-sack) and some short, sparse hairs on my tail.
   

Merlin & Dragonheart's Mom: Thanks to everyone for the feeding suggestions yesterday. We've tried most of the suggestions. As we said yesterday, we've tried feeding them in separate rooms, but Merlin just throws himself against the door to the kitten nursery, and Dragonheart stands outside the kitten nursery and meows.= Putting them on either side of the door, but able to see each other, doesn't work, because they just stand at the door and meow. Putting Dragonheart up on a table or counter doesn't work - he just jumps down. Feeding them in the same room, but slightly separated doesn't work, because they just switch spots, and eat the wrong food, no matter how hard we try to herd them to the correct food. You would think that if they are hungry, they'll eat the food that's in front of them, but so far that hasn't seemed to work. It's very sweet that the boys are already inseparable, but it sure makes feeding them a pain!

Cats on Tuesday: 7 Random Things

I've done this meme lots of times, but Blue from Cats Unplugged tagged me for it again, so here are 7 Random Things About Me, some of which some of you will already know.

1. Because I have no eyelashes, and no eyebrow whiskers, I tend to get goopy eyes. The goop collects in the corners of my eyes. My humans (especially my mom) clean the goop if they are around, but when they aren't, when I shake my head, the goop goes flying everywhere! It sticks on the floor, the walls, the bedding, etc. If it's not wiped up when it's fresh, it really sticks to the walls or the hardwood floors, and it needs to be scraped off! It doesn't come off easily at all.
   
   
2. When I'm very dirty and in need of a bath, the oil that accumulates on my skin tends to rub off on anything that I lay on for any length of time. So the sheets, bedding, and even my mom's pjs all end up with my oil all over them, and need to be washed frequently!
   
   
3. My teeth also get stained brown from the oil my skin secretes. When I groom myself, some of the oil from my skin gets transferred to my teeth, and discolours them.
   
   
4. Being crepuscular, like all cats, I am most active at dusk and at dawn. At those times, I run through the house like a crazy cat, attacking my toys or anything that moves (including human ankles, or feet that are under the covers), and generally acting wild. My humans tend to call me "crazy cat" or "psycho kitty" at these times.
   
   
5. I have a very set routine in the morning. First, I wake up my dad with a gentle tap to his face. I am always very gentle, and just lightly tap him with my paw. If that doesn't wake him up, I breathe right in his face, and eventually that gets him up. While he uses the washroom, I sit at the top of the stairs, and meow for my breakfast. When he's done, we both go downstairs, and I am given my breakfast. I eat breakfast, then I do my crazy-cat routine described above. At this point, I usually curl back in bed next to my mom, but sometimes I amuse myself by running through the house and playing. When my mom gets up, I start meowing at her, and then I normally curl up in her lap while she eats breakfast. When she's done, I meow and meow, until she plays with me. We generally have a good playing session, and then I either go off and amuse myself, or else I curl up in her lap while she helps me with my blog, and then I usually stay there when she starts studying.
   
   
6. I like to get up high. The higher, the better. Sadly, there are only a few places in the house where I am allowed to get up high. My mom doesn't have any photos of me up high, because the minute she grabs the camera when I am up high, I immediately jump down.
   
   
7. I always like to be in the same room as my humans. If they are both at home, but in different rooms, I meow and meow. I want to be with both of them, so I don't like it when they aren't together! My meow is hard to ignore. As I've mentioned before, my meow sounds very much like that of a Siamese (which my mom says is due to my ancestry - my dam is a blue point Sphynx, and all pointed Sphynx have Siamese somewhere in their ancestry - it's how they introduced the pointed colours into the Sphynx breed).

Cherish Meme for Miss Peach

Darling Miss Peach is feeling poorly. My eyes are leaking thinking about her. I am purring and praying for her to recover.


Adan started this Cherish Meme for Miss Peach. Here is what Adan says:

I am a real cuddle bug. I love being with my humans, curling up in their laps, purring and cuddling. I am happiest when I am in a lap or lying elsewhere on one of my humans, or curled up next to them.

With my mom, the sweetest thing I do is sit on her lap and purr my deep, rumbling purr. As she pets me, I knead her. It makes both of us so very happy.

With my dad, I like to sit on his chest. He gives me head rubs, and I purr and purr, rubbing my head into his hand.

Frootbat Friday & Desktop Meme

I went to the vet yesterday evening, and all went well. All my labs were normal or negative, so that's good. I did have my anal sacs emptied - there was a little bit of gunk in them. I was a good boy, and although I squirmed when the vet was doing that, I didn't cry out or try to hurt anyone.

We're going to try some new food to see if that helps out with my soft, stinky poohs. I do like the new food - it is yummy! I have a bit of a sensitive tummy, so they hoped I would tolerate the new food, and I do! They are mixing it in with my old food right now, but so far, so good.

Otherwise, I am now behaving normally, and playing just as much as usual, so it looks like I've recovered. Unfortunately, that means I'll have to go in to have my teeth cleaned in a couple of weeks.

Frootbat Friday & A Meme

Here I am, all curled up in my mom's lap, in my fleece blanket. It's a very cozy and comfy place to be, especially in the morning or in the evening, now that fall is here.

Several cats have tagged me for the Name Meme. Many of you already know the story behind my name. It's not terribly exciting. My full name is Hair'N'Skin Dragonheart, with Hair'N'Skin being the name of my breeder (because she has Persians - the "hair" part, and Sphynx - the "skin" part.) Basically, my breeder has a "theme" for each of her litters. The theme for my litter was "Fairy Tales" and so I was named Dragonheart and my brother was named Merlin. My nickname at my breeder's was Drake to start, and then Drago. My humans, however, just about always call me Dragonheart. Yes, it's long, but it suits me and they like it. When they want to use a shorter name for me, it's usually "Dude." If you want to see some photos of Merlin and I as kittens, you can visit my breeder's site.

Frootbat Friday & A Meme

This photo is a little unusual for me, because my tail isn't wrapped around my paws the way it usually is! The sun was out yesterday, so I was able to enjoy some warm sunshine.

• I'm very particular when it comes to eating stinky goodness. My stinky goodness has to be REAL meat (chicken or fish), that flakes, like real chicken or fish a human can eat. I dispise pâté-style stinky goodness (it's just processed mush to me) and anything with gravy (more processed gunk). Fortunately, my humans feed me Almo Nature, which is 100% organic, hormone-free, antibiotic-free, human grade meat and 100% ocean caught fish. Then it's cooked with 100% organic rice and water, and that's it. My humans say it looks and smells just liked canned chicken or fish they would eat.
  
  
• Another eating tidbit: I have what my humans call "an expensive tummy." On occasion, they've tried feeding me other types of stinky goodness (less expensive, as the Almo Nature is one Euro per can), and I just throw it right back up.
  
  
• I like to drink from the TOP of my water fountain, where the water comes out.
  
  
• I love feathers! Any toy that has feathers on it is quickly destroyed. So the Whirlybird is naturally one of my favourite toys.
  
  
• When the sun isn't shining (and so there's no sun to lie in), I love to burrow. I'll burrow under the covers, in my sleeping bag, in the fleece blanket on my human's lap - anywhere that I can get under or into cover.
  
  
• I sadly seem to no longer be affected by catnip. I hope it's just a phase. I used to roll around in it and get hyper, but now it has no effect on me. :( My mom even bought some fresh "premium" dried catnip for me, and it has no effect. Oh well.
  
  
• Like most Sphynx, I LOVE people. I love cuddling with humans and I love meeting new people. When we have visitors, I will come and sit next to them, or on them if they'll let me. I love being stroked and I purr easily when someone pets me. I am just a furless bundle of love. :)
  
  
• I LOVE to play. If I want to play with one of my wand toys that is kept in my toy chest, I'll scratch at the chest to let my humans know I want to play with a wand toy. If I want to play with the red dot laser mouse, I will knock the mouse off of the desk or table, to let my humans know I want to chase the red dot. (Yes, I'm smart - I know the red dot comes from the laser pointer shaped like a mousie.

Then there is the 7Ps meme.

Passion: My passion is for life! I am passionate about everything. I love to play, cuddle, snuggle, nap, eat, play some more, cuddle some more, etc. I am a very passionate cat!

Purpose: My main purpose is to keep my mom happy. I think I do a pretty good job. I know she loves me very much and I love her too.

Pursuit: I love to pursue clear bottle tops off of Powerade/Gatorade bottles, the red dot, the Whirlybird, and all of my other toys.

Position: My favourite position is on one of my humans' laps. I love cuddling with them! I also love to lie in the sun on my Gizzy quilt or on my fleece pad.

Pummeling: There's not a whole lot I pummel. I do have some toys, like my catnip cigar or my Wooly Bully, that I can really hold onto and bunnykick. That's probably as close as I come to pummeling anything.

Progress: Since I'm just over a year old, all of my life so far has been progress! I have grown from a cute, adorable hairless kitten into a handsome, muscular hairless mancat. I have made many friends through blogging, and sadly I've lost some of them.

Personality: I am an incredibly friendly, lovable guy. I am also very active and athletic. Several writers have used the term "love mooch" to describe the Sphynx breed, and that's me! I love being the centre of attention and meeting new people. I love being pet and I love cuddling. I also love playing. I love playing with all my toys, especially the Whirlybird and my wand toys, the red dot, and my ball tracks. The CFA Breed Profile describes the Sphynx as:

Cats on Tuesday: Middle Name Meme

Benjamin Fuzz and Lucy tagged me for the Middle Name Meme.

First the rules:

This meme wasn't easy for me! Unlike a lot of purebreds who are registered, I don't have a long name. My registered name is "Hair'N'Skin Dragonheart" (Hair'N'Skin is the name of my breeder) and I'm commonly just called Dragonheart. The most common nicknames my humans use for me are "Dragon-Dude" and "Dragon-Cat", so I'll use "Dude" and "Cat" as my middle names.

• D - Daring. I love to explore outside on my harness or in my stroller.
• U - Unique. As a Sphynx, I am pretty unique! There aren't a whole lot of us around, especially in Germany. We are slowly becoming more common, however. Still, each and every cat is a unique inidividual!
• D - Divine. My humans say that both my personality and my looks are divine. They say I am a very handsome cat, with a wonderful, friendly personality.
  
• E - Energetic. I am always on the go and very active. I have tons of energy, and love to run, jump and play.
  
  
• C - Cute. My humans think I am extremely cute and adorable. They are always going on about how cute I am, and pulling out the camera to take photos of me looking cute.
  
• A - Affectionate. I am a very loving and affectionate cat. I love to snuggle and cuddle with my humans. I love to cuddle in a lap and purr and purr.
• T - Treasured. I am a very lucky cat. I am loved and treasured by my human mom and dad. They also say I am spoiled. I love them very much and they love me too. I am very happy that although my dad is allergic to cats, he can tolerate Sphynx, so I was able to come and live with my humans. They are the best mom and dad a cat ever had!

Frootbat Friday & A Meme

Once again, a photo of me lying in the sun on my Gizzy quilt. :) I was thinking of Stella until my mom came along with the camera and disturbed my thoughts.

1. Thunderstorms. They are loud and noisy.
   
   
2. The doorbell ringing. It is loud and the sound hurts my ears.
   
   
3. Fireworks. They are very loud and hurt my ears.
   
   
4. When my humans go away on vacation. My catsitter takes good care of me, but I miss my humans.
   
   
5. The vacuum. This is also very noisy, and sucks things up for no good reason!
   
   
6. The evil water spray bottle. Granted, it only attacks me when I'm doing things I shouldn't, but still, I don't like it at all!
   
   
7. Pâté-style stinky goodness. Blech. I need my stinky goodness to look like real chicken, beef, or fish. So I'm very happy my humans buy me Almo Nature, which is 100% organic, hormone-free meat or ocean-caught fish, 100% organic rice, and cooking water, and that's it! The meat (fish, chicken, or beef) is also human-grade, and looks just like the meat that would come out of a can of meat for human consumption.
   
   
8. When people call me ugly, or leave mean, hurtful comments on my blog.
   
   
9. When people think I'm a dog! I know many nice woofies, but I'm not one!
   
   
10. Mean people, especially people who are cruel to animals. I don't know how people can be so mean to helpless, defenceless creatures. It makes me very sad.

Sunday Meme

I was tagged to answer the questions in this meme by Imma (Alice) at I Was Born2Cree8 and Michael of Valtool's Box.

What were you doing 10 years ago?
Since I'm not yet a year old, I wasn't alive 10 years ago! As for my humans, my mom had just graduated at the top of her class with an engineering degree from the University of Guelph (B.Sc.Eng in Biological Engineering) and my dad had just returned from being deployed for the Winnipeg Floods.

What were you doing 1 year ago?
Again, I wasn't born yet! I was still growing in my mommy's tummy. She was very pregnant at this point. As for my humans, they were living in a hotel in Ottawa. All of their household goods had been packed up, and were on their way to Germany. While waiting for their stuff to make it to Munich, they were living in hotels.

Five snacks you enjoy:

4. Milk left in the bottom of my humans' cereal bowls (no, it doesn't bother my tummy)

1. Set up a wonderful no-kill shelter for all the animals that don't have Forever Homes where the animals would be well looked after and cared for.

As a cat, I don't have a lot of clothes. I don't mind wearing clothes, but clothes for dogs and cats are very expensive here in Germany. I do have some sweaters that I like to wear in the winter, when it's cold. Basically, anything that isn't comfortable, or that no longer fits me, is something that I won't ever wear again.

Frootbat Friday & A Meme

My dear good friend Miss Peach tagged me for a meme. You can also see my Frootbat Friday photos to the right (as always, click on a photo to view a larger image).

1. Favourite season? Summer. It is nice and warm, and the sun feels good on my skin.
   
   
2. Favourite colours? Blue, red, and green.
   
   
3. Favourite room? Wherever my humans happen to be! I also like my "cat room" with my large cat tree that sits in front of the window; the family room because one wall is floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall windows so I can get lots of sun and watch lots of birdies in the backyard; and the bedroom at night when I curl up with my two humans.
   
   
4. Do you like dogs? My breeder had two woofies, and they were nice.
   
   
5. Ever been in an airplane box? No.
   
   
6. Do you have the get bathed? Yes! Once a week. As I've mentioned before, because I have no fur, the oil that my skin secretes builds up, and my tongue can't remove it all.
   
   
7. Are you in love? Yes! I love my human mom and dad. I also have a very special friend in Stella, and maybe when I'm old enough, we'll be girlfriend and boyfriend. *blush*
   
   
8. Where would you like to travel to? Egypt. I would like to see the sphinx (note the difference in spelling - the sphinx is the giant statue near the pyramids whereas Sphynx are the breed of hairless cats)
   
   
9. What do you ignore? Not much! I am very curious. Sometimes I ignore my humans when they say "no", but sometimes I do listen.
   
   
10. How many lives have you used up? None. I'm not even one yet!
    
    
11. Do you have any dark secrets? No. I'm still young, and I already confessed to just about everything in the "True Confessions" meme.
    
    
12. What is your favourite holiday? Christmas! My human dad is home for a long time, so I get to spend a lot of time with my two humans, there are lots of fun presents to open and new toys to play with, and there is lots of ribbon and paper to play with, both when my humans are trying to wrap presents and then when all the presents are unwrapped!
    
    
13. Water or milk? Milk!
    
    
14. Why do you blog? It's fun! I like to have a record of my life and I enjoy meeting new cats from all over the world. I have made so many wonderful friends through blogging.
    
    
15. Are you into extremes? Yes! Billy Joel's song "I Go To Extremes" could be my theme song. I like to play hard, have adventures outside in my stroller or on my harness, but I can also flop right down and sleep on my Gizzy quilt or in my sleeping bag.
    
    
16. Favourite TV shows? The shows my humans watch: Mythbusters, Stargate (SG-1 and Atlantis), Battlestar Galactica (the new series), M*A*S*H, and Smallville.
    
    
17. Are you a pesty lap cat? Oh yes, I'm a real cuddle bug. I love curling up on my humans' laps and cuddling with them.
    
    
18. Inside or outside cat? Inside. It's not safe for me to go outside unsupervised, so I only go outside on my harness or in my stroller.
    
    
19. What makes you happy? Being with my humans, being pet, playing, treats, making new friends, getting comments on my blog (but not the mean, nasty ones of course!)
    
    
20. Your most embarrassing moment? I confessed to this before, but one time after I used the litterbox, I had a poopy bum. Well, I went and jumped on the bed and sat on my human dad's chest while he was reading. I managed to get his shirt and the bedsheets dirty, so my humans had to change them and put them in the wash.

Cats on Tuesday: My First Five Days

I was tagged for the "First Five Days in Your Forever Home" meme. This shouldn't be too difficult, since I started blogging when I first joined my humans in my Forever Home.

Day 1

The day started with a bath, and with having my nails clipped. A few hours later, two humans that I didn't know came to visit, and my breeder scooped me up, and handed me to the female human. She seemed nice enough, petting me, but I didn't know her, and so I was shaking. My older sister Flappy seemed to like these new humans, and was purring away and wandering all over them.

The humans talked with my breeder, and she provided them with some paperwork, and some cat food (yum!), some litter and some toys. Pretty soon I was put into a carrier with my familiar sleeping bag. There was also a fleece blanket in the carrier, but my sleeping bag was familiar, so I curled up in it.

I was brought to a car, when the female human kept me on her lap in the cage. I quickly fell asleep in my sleeping bag. I slept through most of the drive.

Eventually, we stopped, and my carrier was picked up and brought into a house. I was put into a room (which was my Nursery, or cat room), and my carrier door was opened. I meowed, since everything seemed strange, and I ran around the room, looking for my older sister Flappy, and the other cats. I couldn't find them.

The female human then picked me up, and put me in a litter box. It was different from the one I was used to, but had the same litter. So I knew it was a litter box. Then she showed me my water dish and food dish. Again, a little different, but the water was okay, and the food is what I've always eaten.

The humans had a nice cat tree, and they had a fuzzy fleece blanket on one of the platforms, so I hung out there for a while. Eventually I felt brave enough to play with the humans, chasing a feather on a string, and I then let them pet me. Later that evening, we all slept in the same room. I curled up next to the human female for a short time, and then went to sleep on the cat tree.

I made this blog post about my first day.

Day 2

I was still confined to the Nursery. I thoroughly explored this room. I really like the cat tree, which is similar to the ones my breeder had in her place. The two humans have a peacock feather on a string that was lots of fun to play with. I also had fun playing with the wand toy that consists of a ball and bell on the end of a long ribbon.

Every now and then, I would curl up in the female human's lap for a bit,and let her pet me. Then I would be off exploring the room again. I found a very cool cat tent that I checked out. The human female went out for several hours, but the human male stayed with me.

My mom wrote about this day on her blog.

Day 3

This was a very exciting day.! I was allowed to explore the rest of the house! Up until now, I had been confined to the Cat Nursery, so that I wouldn't be overwhelmed. Today I was allowed to explore the entire house. The human male was gone for a large portion of the day, but the human female kept me company for most of the day. She disappeared for about an hour and a half, and I was a little worried about being left alone, but she came back. She did lock me up in the Cat Nursery while she was gone.

When I explored the house, it turned out that the Cat Nursery was the largest room upstairs, but there were two other rooms to explore. One had a big bed that was comfy to jump on. The other room had this strange-looking machine (my humans say it's a Bowflex). There was one other room upstairs that I wasn't allowed into at that time. It turned out to be the bathroom.

I made my way down the stairs, all by myself, and found another HUGE room down there, with big windows that are wonderful to sit at. I found a very slippery couch - it was hard to jump up onto, since I can't dig my claws into it. My humans said it was made of leather. There was another couch that wass much easier to jump onto. There was also a cat tree in this big room for me. I also found a table that my humans eat at. They wouldn't let me jump on the table and eat with them at supper time.

There were an additional two rooms downstairs that I wasn't allowed into at the time. The doors were kept closed.

That evening, all of us (me and the two humans) slept in the Cat Nursery again.

Day 4

Once again, I was allowed the run of the house (except for the few doors that remained closed). Once again, the human male was gone for most of the day, but the human female kept me company. Again, she was gone for a short while during the day (it turned out that she was going out to run when she left me) and I was locked in the Cat Nursery whenever she went out.

When my mom was home, I decided to try to help her study. For some reason, she didn't appreciate my help! Silly human.

On the evening of the fourth day, I was allowed to sleep with my humans in their big bed! My human dad blocked off the stairway so that I couldn't venture downstairs during the night, and they kept the doors to the Cat Nursery and their bedroom open, so I could get at my water, food and litterbox whenever I wanted to. I spent most of the night curled up between my two humans, under the covers.

I made this post on my fourth day. My mom made this post of me playing with my toys.

Day 5

On the fifth day, I participated in my first Thursday Thirteen! My mom also did a Thursday Thirteen, featuring photos of me!

Once again, I was allowed the run of (most of the) house during the day, and I spent a lot of the day either curled up in my mom's lap, curled up in my sleeping bag in my tent, or hanging out on my cat tree.

I had lots of fun playing with my toys, especially the toys with feathers on them, and the various wand toys. I was getting used to the routine around this place. I was fed stinky goodness three times a day: morning, noon and night. I had water and crunchies available all the time. My mom would head out for an hour or two in the middle of the day (to go for a run) and I would curl up in my sleeping bag and have a nap while she was out running. My dad was gone during most of the day, but he always came home in the late afternoon.

At night, I again slept in the humans' bed, between the two of them and under the covers.

I was really settling into my new home and enjoying living with these two humans.
