Frootbat Friday

Dragonheart
(Click photo for a larger image)

A lot of you have asked for photos or videos of me taking a bath. The only problem with that is that it takes both of my humans to give me a bath, so there is no one to take photos or video. My dad holds me still while my mom bathes me. And we don't have a tripod for our camera, so they can't just leave it running while they bathe me. But we'll try to figure out something so you can all see me being bathed.

Anyhow, my humans and I leave tomorrow for a week in Switzerland! This will be my first real road trip. I was in the car for about six hours when my humans picked me up, and we had to drive from Frankfurt to Munich, but I slept most of that trip. This time I hope to enjoy more of the 7 hour drive. In addition to my travel box, my humans have a small litter box for me, a water bowl, and some food to feed me in small portions when we stop along the way. They have my blanket, a bunch of my toys, and enough food and litter for the week packed, as well as my nail clippers, ear cleaner and eye cleaner. Oh, and my bottled water. I don't drink Munich water - my mom says the water is very "hard" and that's why I don't like the taste - so we have a large supply of my favourite bottled water. For those of you who have taken road trips, is there anything else you think my humans should bring or that you would recommend? Thanks!

OMG, your mum did a perfect list for things to take along with you, just like for a baby ! And it's so nice that they take you with them. I used to always travel with my first cat Piccola, she even went twice with me to Sicily (abt 3000 km) and behaved very well in hotels. The only thing I would suggest for your trip is not to keep you in a travel cage but to let you free. There is no danger because you will enjoy the landscape and look out of the window behind. There is no law who forbids it as far as I know, dogs are loose too ! Otherwise you could get sick. Have a very nice trip and I am curious what you will tell us when you are back !
You look very "royal" on this picture, just a crown is missing !

It sounds like you are pretty prepared. I am so excited for you! (I read yer Mommie's great list yesterday - what FUN!). I am just a little sad because we will miss you next week. But I can't wait to hear all about yer fabulous trip. Have fun little Dragonheart!

Maybe a couple of sweaters? In case you get cold.

Also, my OTW says when we drove from Vancouver to Northern Vishus Deerland, all the water jumped out of our bowl! And we even had a big bottle full of water that put new water in the bowl whenever the old water jumped out! We had 2 whole litres of water jumped out all over the car! So bring LOTS of water, 'cause it doesn't like going for drives and will jump around and out of your bowl!

I hate cars - I hope you don't get car sick! Where are you going in Switzerland the girl humans goes to Geneva every week and she says it's very nice there and there's a big lake and a big water spurt (but it's too big to play with). She was there yesterday and said there was freezing fog and some left over snow so wrap up warm! FAZ

Uh, Maw sed to tell you dat the cat books recommend taking your own water in jugs that you are used to drinking because the water might be different and make your tummy sick.
Take lots of pikshurs please!

Road trips can be fun indeed. I recommend yelling a lot. I used to travel all of the time and I actually would rather be in a carrier that is too small for me for 5 hours. I know, I'm WEIRD apparently but really I liked to be snuggly. I say just have fun and take lots of naps!

I go on road trips to our mountain house all the time, its about 3 hours away. Since I use my carrier as a sleeper here at home, Mom and Dad put it open in the back seat. That way I can go in it when I want. They also bring my harness and leash, in case I want to go outside when they stop for a break. Food dish, water dish, and a small litter box on the floor in the back works good. I like to look out the window, but mostly I sleep on Mom's lap. Tara

Your coloring is so beautiful. I think bringing your own water is a very smart (and yummy) thing to do. I hope you are having a wonderful time traveling and are having many adventures. Can't wait to hear all about it! Did you get to play in the snow?
