Marathon Monday

Well, unfortunately, I didn't get to go to the Park in my stroller yesterday. It never warmed up quite as much as the forecast said it would. It was warm for my humans, who were out running, but it wasn't warm enough for me to go out in my stroller. It is supposed to be warm today and tomorrow, so hopefully we will get to the Englischer Garten (a very large park in the middle of Munich) either today or tomorrow. In the meantime, I am hanging out on my cat tree, watching the birdies outside and keeping an eye on what's going on inside.

My humans, however, did go to the Englischer Garten yesterday. We are very lucky that it is only about a mile and a half from our place. My humans say it is a great place to run. There are many trails through the park, and many of them are dirt and gravel trails, which my humans say are easier on the joints when they run.

This week is the highest mileage week of my humans' marathon training program, culminating in a 20 mile run on Friday or Saturday. Then they start something called a "taper" where they reduce mileage in order to prepare for the race. They will be running the Hamburg Marathon on April 29th. A marathon is 26.2 miles or 42.2 kilometres. (A half-marathon is half of that: 13.1 miles or 21.1 kilometres.) This is the official distance for a marathon. Shorter races that call themselves marathons are using the term incorrectly.

I think my humans are crazy for wanting to run that far, but they seem to enjoy it, so I'm happy for them.

Oh, I hope you get to go to the park today or tomorrow. It sounds like a wonderful place for running and for strollering. Watching birdies from your cat tree is almost as much fun though!

It will get warmer it's already warmer here, but there is a little cold wind blowing.
Meanwhile you can have a look on Arthur's and Pookie's hats they were wearing during the cruise and I have got the first price of the hat parade, lol !

It is supposed to be warm today and tomorrow, here in Virginia, but then, later this week.... cold again.
We had lightning and thunder last night >O-O<

I hope you get a warm enough day to get out and sniff the spring air... soon, but it is still pretty chilly for a little hairless kitty like you. I would be sad if you got a cold!

I am glad your mom and daddie like to run. It is good for you. My mommie used to run in high school. She tells me that skating is easier on the knees.

Have a happy day Dragon<3

I'm sorry you didn't get to go outside. The park sounds great, my Mom would love to run through it!

I don't why humans run so far, especially since the first human who ran TO Marathon died of exhaustion!

I'm sorry you didn't get to go to the park. Sometimes it's just a guess what the weather will do, isn't it? Hope you've gotten out by now!

I've waited at the end of some Marathons for someone, and it was almost as exciting for me as it was for the runner!
You must be very, very proud of your humans :)

I'm so sorry that you didn't make it to the park. I hope you get to go in the next couple of days.

Vader got to go to the park yesterday. His Nana took him, since I'm allergic to grass and lots of people were out doing yardwork yesterday. I'm glad your mom & dad don't have that problem!
