Cats on Tuesday; Bird Watching

Cats on Tuesday I love watching birds.

Dragonheart bird watchingDragonheart bird watchingWe have a bird feeder in our backyard, and our neighbours on each side have bird feeders too, so I get to see a lot of birdies. They are so much fun to watch!

In our living room, the entire wall leading out to our Garten (yard) is covered, floor to ceiling, wall to wall, in windows, so I have a great view of the outdoors. I love sitting in front of the window and watching everything that is going on outside.

Often, when I see a birdie, I get very excited and I start chirping! My jaw moves up and down very quickly, and I make a chittering noise. My mom calls it my "birdie noise." Unfortunately, she hasn't been able to record it yet, because by the time she has the video camera ready, I've usually stopped. I haven't been able to identify any of the birds yet, as my humans are only familiar with Canadian species. In the future, we will try to get some photos of the birds to share with you

You are a very nice model especially when you watch birdies ! I know this little noise you make while watching them. Lisa is a specialist for that and makes us laugh, she "talks" all the time.
BTW I have a surprise for you on my Kehole picture blog. I painted you for my exposition in October. Now your mum has to tell me if it really looks like you, because I don't know you in real and had to compose it from several pictures. Of course you can copy it, the word copyright I don't know, lol !

I get all excited when I see the birds, too, Drago. I'm not allowed to chase them, my companion growls at me if I look as if I'm going to.

I make that chittering noise too, it's just something we cats do, isn't it?

Have a good bird watching day, Drago.

Birdies? I haven't seen any in a while, MomBean needs to get some to come around the house so I can watch them!

I've got a weird question for you, since you live in Germany, does your meow sounds different than mine? (MomBean read somethin' about kitties around the word meowing differently and you know beans, they can't leave well enough alone...)

You look so sweet watching the birdies. I too love watching mine watch the birds and the little chirping noises they make when they are excited. We adopted (rescued) a new lady this weekend and she has been climbing IN the tree and IN the feeder. She must learn that is a big no no.

I chitter at birds too. They are mean though because they are always tormenting you through the window. Do you have any baby birds to watch? They are tasty looking!

Awesome that you have such huge windows to look out. We all chitter when we see birds or squirrels.

Did you know that the US has Veteran's Day on November 11th? It's similar to the Canadian Remembrance Day, except it is for all Veterans who have served, whereas Memorial Day is for those who have died while serving.

If you ever came to visit us in Arizona, you and Nutmeg could practice your ornithology together. She chitters too!

I think it's great that you have such large windows for bird watching. You look great sitting there.

Dragonheart, you look like you are putting your heart and soul into watching those birdies! We know about that, too. There is nothing better -- it's like TV for cats!

I don't think Dixie is picky about what birds he thinks about chasing. I say 'thinks about' because he rarely gets off his bum to chase anything.

Good luck identifying them!

I love birdies too Dragonheart! I have lots of trees to watch them in and I can hear one every morning while laying on my big bed with my Meowm. Sometimes that bird is too noisy and keeps Meowm and I awake. Meowm calls it a noisy pigeon.

The first photo of you, with your back to the camera, is a classic of beauty and poise. It is just stunning!

I think every cat makes the birdie sound. Mine goes like this in my throat: eh, eh, eh, eh and is sort of a cross between a click and a chatter. Whatever yours sounds like, I'm sure it means you find that particular birdie very interesting and would like to get him!!!

Pixel said to tell you that he too loves his feather toy on a fishing pole, but last night was all about curling up in a tupperware bowl, and tonight it was trying to stick more than his head in a ramekin.

On Michael's WW there's a pic of him playing with a cloth-covered ball toy too.

My 3 cats all make that "I see a bird" noise too. Two of them like to creep up on the birds, but birds are too quick, and fly off. I think the birds are having fun being daring. My third cat can't see anymore, but she used to chitter at birds in her youth.
