Thursday Thirteen: Random Facts

I've been tagged for the "Random Things About Me" meme, so I decided to make it into a Thursday Thirteen list.
  1. Like all Sphynx, I am a real "cuddle bug" - I love cuddling! I am happiest when I'm curled up in one of my humans' laps.

  2. I am very active and love playing. My favourite toys are all interactive ones - the Whirlybird, other wand toys like the Cat Charmer, the Red Dot (laser pointer), and various "fishing gloves."

  3. I am very smart, and I know that the red dot comes out of the mouse-shaped laser pointer. When I want to play with the red dot, I jump up on my mom's desk, where the laser pointer is, and knock it off the desk. That way my humans know I want to chase the red dot.

  4. If I want to play with something else, I meow and meow and meow. I have a very loud and insistent meow. My mom says that it is clear that I have some Siamese blood in me, because I meow like a Meezer (my dam was a blue point Sphynx and all pointed Sphynx have Siamese somewhere in their ancestry - that's how they got the pointed colours into the Sphynx breed).

  5. I play "fetch" with the clear plastic bottle tops off of Powerade bottles. After playing hockey with one of them, I will then pick it up in my mouth and bring it back to my mom, so she can throw it for me and I can play hockey with it again.

  6. In the litterbox, I'm a real digger. I dig, and dig, and dig, and dig. So my litter crystals tend to fly everywhere, even though I have a covered litterbox.

  7. (Warning: May be TMI!) Although I normally cover, during my recent tummy troubles, I didn't always cover my business in the litterbox. *blush* Making stinkies was uncomfortable, so I wanted to get out of the litterbox as fast as possible!

  8. (Warning: May be TMI!) During my tummy troubles, I also almost always had poo stuck to my bum after my litterbox trips. So I ended up leaving a lot of poo marks on various blankets, sheets, fleece throws, and other items around the house. So my humans were doing a lot of laundry! They would try to catch me whenever I came out of the litterbox, and wipe my bum, but of course they weren't always home when I used the litterbox. I did not like having my bum wiped.

  9. My tummy troubles seem to be over! Wild (vishus deer, ie. venison, and green pea) food seems to be doing the trick for me! My stinkies are back to normal! I've been eating only the Wild stinky goodness, since it has fewer ingredients, so now we are going to try adding in some of the Wild crunchies, and see if my tummy can handle those too.

  10. Because of my food allergies, I haven't had any treats since my tummy troubles began! My mom is now searching for some yummy treats that she can give me. I need to be properly rewarded after my weekly ear-cleanings and twice-weekly nail clippings, after all.

  11. I need to have my claws, front and back, trimmed twice a week because they grow fast. They grow so fast due to my fast Sphynx metabolism.

  12. When my claws start to get to long, I end up injuring myself. When I scratch, if I scratch too hard, my claws leave a boo-boo on my skin, since I don't have any fur to protect it. These scrapes always upset my mom for some reason.

  13. I wake my dad up in the morning for head rubs and breakfast by gently tapping him on the face with my paw.

Probably way more than I needed to know about your stinkies. ;-) But I love your pictures and I'm glad your tummy is feeling better.

Cute pictures. :)

Hi Dragonheart - I am having to start from scratch. Just as well I like scratching, ususally on Her carpet or chairs, despite having OCUNTLESS scratching posts. I like it when She yells. :) It shows that She loves me!

I am very glad that you found some good foods that agree with your tummy. Now I hope you can find some good treats to go along with it!

I'm glad your tummy's better now and hope that you'll feel up to trying just a little of the celebration chicken and 'nip jelly I'm having Mummy make for the party! :) If not there's plenty of vishus deer for you to eat here - though you may have to shove Tigmut'hep out of the way to get to it! ;)

The Meezers or Billy said...

we is glad your tummy troubles is ofur!!! and that you're eating vishus deer - it's like a jooicy cats revenge!

by gently tapping your daddy's face, do you mean slapping him? i slap mommy sometimes to wake her up.

DH we would LOVE to know what kind of new treats you find! ML has stopped giving us our Temps and Greenies because she suspects they were behind Willie's very icky loose poo and Annie's very icky farts! (TMI!)
Now we, too, are treatless.

We'z glad yoor tummy trubbuls is over with, it's really cool dat a cat is eating a vishus deer. Speedy can't have tem-tay-shuns either, just fishy flakes and Wellness (he thinks dey is treats). Yoor furry nice to wake yoor daddy by patting his face. We pounce mom and sit on her face...if dat doesn't work den Zippy will play bite her.

I'm so happy those vishus deer are treating your tummy well!!! I did the same thing for me T13. I can't believe you let your nails get trimmed that often, I can't stand it once a month!

Oh, DH! Butt wiping is the worst. Sometimes I get stuff stuck in my butt furs (if you know what I mean). Talk about humiliating.

Good to hear that your new food is doing the trick!

We're glad your tummy is better now. It's good of you to wake your dad up in the morning. When we want to wake our Beans up, I (Flynn) push my nose in mum's mouth, and Eric sits on dad's head. If that doesn't work, he bites his nose. That always works!

Thank you for telling us so much about you. We are very glad that your tummy troubles are gone now!

The yummy jelly can be made with any type of meat you like and a little of your fave veg. My Mummy's adjusted the recipe to us cats and each time she makes it better than the last! :)

I'll get My Mummy to make you a little with vishus deer, peas and 'nip if you'd like! :)

Icon Baxter Bentley said...

ha! you tap him on the face! That is pretty good, I wipe my cold wet nose on my bean's arms and hands when I want pets. I should try your method, because mine doesn't always work.
You are very smart with the Red Dot. Katie still has not figured it out.

Tybalt said...

Dragonheart, that was wonderful! I learned so much about you. =^_^=

Don't feel bad about the pooey bum . . . it happens to the best of us. Sometimes poo gets caught in my floof . . .and mommy has to chase me to try and clean me off. I don't like having my bum wiped, either.

Forty Paws said...

Wow DH! You are certainly VERY Smart. Knowing how to tell your beans when you want to play is fantastic!

We never thought about it that you could injure yourself with your claws since you don't have furs. No wonder you have to endure twice weekly clippie-claws!

I think it's wonderful that you meow like a Siamese. No doubt you get your intelligence, cuddliness and athletic ability from this same heritage!

Hi Dragonheart,

I'm glad your tummy is better :)

Shaggy and Scout said...

You are so smart & athletic Dragonheart! Our mmum wants to get some of that metabolism of yours so she can be skinny and grow nice nails. Maybe you can bottle it?

Diamond Emerald-Eyes said...

I know where the red dot comes from too and I refuse to chase it. I prefer to play catch, not chase.

We should give you special community service award for eating all the vishus deers and keeping us kitties safe!

Dragonheart, you are so wonderful. How sweet you are! We are very happy to know that your tummy is improving and easing with the new foods.
We love these pictures of you.

2. Brothers are very interactive. I think you will find yours to be the best new toy yet. -Tiki

4. Me too. The other night I decided to meow at the ceiling fan repeatedly at 3 am. -Riley

6. Me too, but the litter box must be immaculate! -Riley

13. Riley wakes me up first by pouncing on me, so I leave. Then he goes and kisses the woofie, making him groan. Then he paws at the covers so Mommy will let him under them. Then he runs across Daddy to get to the woofie and repeats until the alarm goes off. I like your method better. -Tiki

We are both so glad you are feeling better! Venison is tasty, so we are glad it is good for your tummy.

Sunny's Mommy said...

You are a very smart cat! I'm so glad your new venison food is agreeing with your tummy. I hope their dry version is okay for you, too :-)

I wouldn't worry much about leaving those skidmarks. Your new food will help, and even if it happens again, your humans know and understand these things happen with cats. Anyway, that's what my human told me the last time I left a skidmark on the family room carpet...

Unknown said...

Dragonheart, I liked this T13 because I got to learn more about you. You are a very smart cat.

I am glad your tummy is better now, when I eat stinky goodness I have tummy troubles too. My Mum has tried all the different brands she could find, but no luck. Now I only eat my crunchies : (

You are smart, Dragonheart! I don't think our dog would ever figure out that the red dot comes out of the laser pointer. LOL

Glad to hear your tummy troubles are better--hope you can get some treats that won't upset it soon!

Shilgiah the Cat said...

Hi Dragonheart! I enjoyed your Thursday 13 and especially liked the picture of you getting your chin rubbed.

I don't have tummy troubles except I'm a tad overweight and mom has me on a diet, but what my mom does for treats now is to give me a few crunchy treats that are really organic yummy cat food and she lies and tells me they are treats. I don't have the heart to tell her I know they are really just not-on-my-diet-cat-food-crunchies.

Karen Jo said...

You wrote a really good T13, Dragonheart. I am so glad that your tummy troubles are over. Yay for eating the vishus deer and making the world safer for jooicy young kitties. I hope you can find some treats that you can eat, too.

Boy said...

I don't wike having mine bum wiped too but mine Mummy seems to be vewy particuwar about that! Beans are weird! You get to eat vishus deer! Are they nice? I've never twied them!

Starbuck and Torrey said...

How interesting!!! I would love a cat who was a snuggle bug. My three are always close by and never leave me in a room alone, but they are not really the "Sit on my lap and cuddle" types. However, I don't have to cut their nails as they won't hurt themselves and they usually do a good job filing them by themselves!

Mark's Mews (Marley, Lori, Taz, and Binq) said...

Hey, about the "TMI" concerns... We figure "eferybein/kitty poops. Som,etimes there are "troubles" an "accidents".

If our litterboxes were OUR design, they would be several Skeeter-lengths long an wide, would have little steps goin in an out, and would have an alarm to alert the Beins to go clean it RIGHT AWAY! An maybe efen lock their fridge until they did!

They jus SEEM to haf less litter problems cause they design efrything for themselfs!

Lux said...

I am so so so glad that your tummy problems seem to be a thing of the past - that sounds like it was a drag!
