Meezer Rule Wednesday: Books
Merlin: My Meezer Rule for today: When a human lies down to read a book, it is important to jump up onto their chest and make yourself comfortable, so that they have to put down the book and pay attention to you! If you purr while doing so, and look adorable, it will be hard for the human to get upset with you.

Snuggling is much more important than book reading. Another good rule is if the humans are reading a newspaper, you have to lie full stretch on it. Cuteness lets you get away with that too.

Yup this is a very very good rule! Especially if the human is in bed. That is the most important time to veto reading.

I am not much of a snuggler so I don't mind when Meowm reads, but it sounds like a good rule.~Junior
I love this rule! I don't crawl up on Meowm's chest, cause hse is usually sitting up...so I crawl up in her lap and talk to her so much that hse has to put the book down and pay attention to me to get me to be quiet!~Orion

Ack, this is why mom started reading books online! Dat and she doesn't hafta dig around fur da one she wants to read. She still spends lots of time sitting in da recliner covered in kitties tho...who can resist when we make ourselves look cute.
This is a good rule, Luna will often crawl up on my chest when I am either reading or on the computer - and she always wins :)
Yes, I agree. We don't do the chest curl (even though Dad has tried to teach us -- he gets clawed a lot) but we'll curl up at his feet and that seems to distract him pretty well. You've got the technique down!

Merlin, that's a rule that we practice all the time. We do this with books, newspapers, magazines... We guess we don't like our humans to read.

Merlin, we like to do that too, but what is really fun is to bat the pages of the book they are reading before they finally give up and you can curl up with them.

Heh..that's where Buddah plops down when the Woman is trying to read in bed. It annoys her, and that amuses me (and I note that she does not make him move...)

Oh yes, we think that's a very important rule, too. Also, when they go and have a nap in the afternoon, one must go into the bedroom and lie on top of one's human to nap, too.
