Tuxie Tuesday: Dragonheart

Update 15:00:  The vet is very happy that they managed to fit me in.  It turns out that where I had the molar extracted, it is very inflamed and swollen.  One of my lymph nodes on that same side is also a little bit enlarged.  So, where they did the extraction may have become infected.  Unfortunately, although they could tell that there was inflammation and swelling, they couldn't see much beyond that, so I have to go back tomorrow again.  They will sedate me, have a good look, and if necessary, excise the inflamed swollen area to get a good look underneath.  In the meantime I have some pain medication to make me more comfortable.  I've lost another 0.15 kg since the dental two weeks ago, and a total of about 0.25 kg since April, so clearly I'm not eating as much as I should, due to pain and discomfort.  So purrs and prayers for all to go well tomorrow would be appreciated.

On top of my mouth issues, my left eye also has some conjunctivitis, so I'm on eye drops three times a day until that clears up.  No wonder I was bugging my mom so much this morning - I was very uncomfortable!

Dragonheart at the vet

Update 12:45:  The vet can squeeze me in at 13:15 (1:15 PM).  Hopefully my mouth is okay and it's just the stitches bothering me!

Dragonheart here!  So Thursday I got back to the vet so they can check on how my mouth is healing since they had to extract one of my molars two weeks ago this Thursday.  My mom doesn't know if I'm still in pain or if the stitches are bothering me as they dissolve, because I've gone back to opening and closing my mouth, like there's something in there bothering me.  It's almost like I'm chewing something, but there's nothing in my mouth.  I had stopped doing that when I was on the painkillers before and after the extraction, but now that I'm off painkillers, I'm back to doing it.  So my mom suspects that something is still bothering me.

My mom did call the vet asking if I could be seen sooner, but they are fully booked.  The receptionist took a message though, and they are going to ask our vet if they think they should try to squeeze me in sooner.

I guess bad teeth are a known issue with Sphynx, just as in some other breeds.

Thanks for your purrs!

Poor you! Those toofy problems are nasty critters and because we cannot talk to the humans, AND we do not complain, they sneak up on us. Purrs for you in the operation and our paws are crossed.

And hey, it's JUNE now! When's Daddy coming?
