Caturday Art: Chloe

Hello everyone!  We are very sorry that we haven't posted in a long while.  Things are very busy around here.  March is Nutrition Month, and as our mom is a registered dietitian, she is even busier than normal this month!

Today, for Caturday Art with Athena, we have a digital scrapbooking page of our new baby sister.

As you can see, Chloe is adorable.  She and Dragonheart have become best friends.  They were allowed to meet after Dragonheart's congestion finally cleared, and they now get along wonderfully!  Chloe is actually very good for Dragonheart - she has him playing like he hasn't played in months!  So she has been a very positive addition to the clowder, as far as Dragonheart is concerned.

Chloe and Merlin get along just fine, although Merlin just mostly ignores her.  Sadly Merlin is starting to slow down, and isn't interested in playing, even with his favourite toys anymore.  He is still a happy guy, always purring and wanting to be with our dad, but he just doesn't have the energy he used to.  He still seems to be enjoying life, however, and doesn't seem to be in any pain.

Unfortunately, Chloe and Devi do not get along.  Devi has attacked Chloe a couple of times, scratching her before one of our humans could intervene (they are always supervising Chloe-Devi interactions).  Poor Chloe then hisses at her, understandably, and starts growling.  Hopefully they will eventually learn to get along.  Our humans are getting tired of sleeping in separate rooms (our mom with Dragonheart and Chloe in the master bedroom, and our dad with Merlin and Devi in the spare bedroom).  We've tried spraying Feliway, to help Devi stay calm, but she just doesn't seem to like having a kitten in the house at all.  We've done all of the "right" things they say to do for introductions - playing paws under the door to start, rubbing the kitten with a towel and then letting Devi have her scent, introducing them with playtime and treats for each, etc.  They may never be friends, but hopefully they'll be able to co-exist peacefully!

We hope all our friends are doing well.  We miss visiting you and hope we'll have to time to do so again soon!

We hope Devi and Chloe learn to get along. Our Max and Angel tolerate each other at the best of times. We do not talk about the worst times!

We are sad that Merlin is slowing down. We are sending purrs and hugs to him.

Beautiful scrapbooking ... purrhaps they will soon just learn to live with an "uneasy peace". My Maggy and Zoey never became friends, but did finally learn to walk around one another, usually minus any hissing or swatting and found their own spaces ... it did take some time (Zo as a kit, Mags a bit older). Patience I guess is the only answer, sigh.
All of yours are so beautiful ...

We are so glad to hear that Chloe and Dragonheart have become such good friends. We hope that, in time, Devi will learn to accept the little one too. We are sad to hear that Merlin has been slowing down a bit ut we hope the slowing down will be very slow.

Fond Purrs,

We think they will get along in time. Maybe you can give Devi a Bach Remedy Walnut, if you haven't tried it yet. We have good experiences with Bach Remedies😊 Pawkisses for a Happy Caturday😘❤

Hurrah for Dragonheart and Chloe, and also Merlin (we also hope the slowing down will be slow). Now Devi and Chloe.....well, two girl cats have got to take a few weeks or months to learn to be together - we know that from experience! Paws crossed.

Why can't girls just get on???

Chloe is so cute! We're glad things are going well for the most part. Hopefully, over time, Devi and Chloe will learn to tolerate each other. We send tons of purrs to Merlin and hope he continues to enjoy life for as long as possible.

I'm sorry to hear that Devi doesn't like Chloe. Hopefully time will change that. Your photo layout is great. :)
Have a blessed weekend.

Chloe looks a little sweetie. Maybe Devi is jealous that there is another female in the family, but I hope she soon learns to accept Chloe even if they never become friends.

Whoa! Maybe when Chloe isn't a kitten anymore they could get along better. She is cute.

Oh, Chloe is too cute! And I just love how she and Dragonheart are such good friends already.

I know what it's like to worry that a new edition and a resident veteran will never get along. After I brought home my youngest kitty, Eddy, I ended up putting her in a large cage at the center of the house at night and when I could not supervise, so that everyone could get used to each other without having direct contact. This worked pretty well, ultimately. There were some spats and such when I started letting Eddy out more and more, but after some time, they all co-exist pretty well. Eddy and Thimble sometimes have little spats, but have also learned to ignore each other when necessary. The hardest was getting Eddy used to pup Astrid. Astrid loves kitties, but Eddy had never before in her life seen one and was having none of it. I honestly thought Eddy would always hate Astrid and that they would never be able to be out and about together, but after months and months of working on it, they co-exist quite well now. They mainly ignore each other, but I'm okay with that. I have faith that the same will happen for Devi and Chloe! Purrs to all of you!

That's a shame the two don't get along. Hopefully, they will come to tolerate if not like each other.

We're glad Merlin is not in any pain and still loves to purr for his dad.

Checking in. How is Merlin? How is Chloe getting adapted to her new home?

Chloe is a pretty girl. Merlin, glad you are still happy and purring even though you are slowing down. Hopefully Devi will become less agressive with time and feliway. Sending you luvs and always keep you in our prayers.
