#28 - 13 Things About The Great Outdoors
- I'm an indoor-only cat. Due to my lack of fur, I can only be outside under supervision, plus it is too dangerous to wander outside alone. So I only go outside on my harness or in my stroller.
- When I'm on my harness, I'm allowed to explore our Garten (German for backyard). Like most German Gartens, it is very small, with a small brick patio and a tiny green lawn.
- In my stroller, I get to explore further. My mom and dad take me out for strolls, or my mom takes me out with her when she goes for short runs. I like to visit the Englischer Garten (a large park in the middle of Munich) in my stroller.
- When I explore our yard, there are all kinds of interesting smells!
- There are all kinds of interesting things to see!
- The grass feels strange under my feet, so I always step very carefully.
- I like to check out the fence, although I'm not allowed to check out what's on the other side of the fence.
- It is fun to watch ants and other insects. I haven't yet done anything other than watch them.
- When I'm out in my stroller, I don't like it when we have to cross roads, because I don't like traffic (it's very noisy). Fortunately, we mostly stick to the great running and cycling paths that are near our place.
- When my mom runs with me in my stroller, I prefer it when we are on asphalt as opposed to gravel trails. The asphalt makes for a smoother ride.
- When I'm out in my stroller, I tend to get a lot of strange looks. First of all, people don't expect to see a cat in a stroller. Secondly, they don't expect to see a hairless cat!
- When I want to go outside, I sit at the door and meow and meow and meow. I have a very loud, insistent voice.
- As fun and as exciting as the great outdoors is, I am happy to be an indoor-only cat.
Kashim & Othello finally received their Secret Paws package from me! Head over to their place and check out their photos!

Hi there, Dragonheart! It looks like you have a furry nice garden to explore -- since it's small, it isn't too ofurwhelming! And you can enjoy the smells and the sights. And I get you have a great meow! I have a loud voice, too, and I use it a lot: MAO MAO MAO MAO MAO!
ConCATulashuns on winnin' the Best Budz pickshure frame in Jeter's superduper contest! You and your daddy will look just great in it!
Kittyhugs and purrs from MaoMao!
I'm glad you get to enjoy the outdoors safely, Dragonheart! And I, too, want to congratulate you on winning the picture frame in Jeter's contest. You had a marvelous entry, and the special relationship you share with your Dad is so touching.
Purrs and snuggles from Marilyn.
Oh I am so happy you won the picture frame! I voted for you:)
My contest answers are finally up! The linky back to you didn't show up in the proper place at the top of it...rats!
The caption contest also decided to put itself between #6 & #7....darn those gremlins.
I am not so good at trouble shooting and I was afraid if I messed with it...I might loose something. This was a very fun and challenging contest and I learned sovery much! I need to know all of these things because one day.....there will be a nakked kitty in my house:) Diana said so:)
Thank you for such a very fun birthday month...it was really fun!
Purrrs from your sister Peach
Hey Dragonheart, great 13 things while you outdoor, even your momma is watching you carefully, please still careful to look after your behind. Still have some risk.
Anyway, I like the subjects about you are outside, it is really cute.
By the way, about No.11, don't mind at all about people's expect, I think hairless is too special to regular people,so sometimes just someone can't suddenly take it. But, you are very beautiful, I believe many people will love you very soon.
Congratulations on winning from Jeter's contest, you are doing great~!
Last weekend, michico spent 3 hours reading all of your blog's articles, from the very first begining one, and tell me about your story, michico and I truly fascinated by you~! And you are very cute wearing red sweater.
I can't wait about this year winter your outfit. And once again, don't mind about other people's expect~!! You are beautiful~!
Dragonheart, your experience in the Outdoors is a lot like mine! I like to step very high in the grass because it feels so funny. We don't get too many strange looks in the stroller because I think most people assume there is a baby inside!
What a great idea the stroller is. You can get out and about without being in danger. Very clever.
Dragonheart, it's interesting to learn about you and your outside life over there in Germany. It looks like you are having a great time.
You look very cute in your stroller. I think in our neighborhood we would get a lot of strange looks if we were riding in a stroller.... AND believe it or not, many people think we look strange. Yes, really.
My conclusion is that those people need to get out of their own personal space bubble more often... embrace uniqueness and beauty.
Congrats on winning th picture frame. We were on of the judged and we voted for you. Your dad is a defender and protector of freedom.
We are looking forward to seeing his picture in the frame sometime :-)
happy day Dragonheart!!
Purrs, Prinnie
I like being an indoor cats only too. It's much safer that way and I's don't have to worry bout those 4 wheel monsters any mores.
The grass feels strange under my feet as well! But I've gotten used to it, now I really like how it feels on my tummy when I lay on it!

Inside is definitly safer! But, getting to go outside and still be safe is wonderful. We were gonna go out in our kennel today but it started raining, finally. Mom is saying "c'mon rain" cuz she sez it's not worth hafing a garden if yoo spend more on watering it than you would pay fur the stuff in the store.
I stay inside too, but MomBean lets me in the fenced yard when it isn't hot outside. Sadly I live in Maryland, so it's hot for most of the year! :P
you is so furry brave Dragonheart - we run from the outside door anytime it opens.
So, I have always wondered, do you wear sun tan lotion?
Great thirteen love the photos.Congratulations on your win in Jeter's contest I love the bond between you and your dad and your entry was very sweet :)
You're so brave! I really hate it out there. I would rather smell a stinky litterbox than go Out of Doors!
Kaze
Looks like lots of fun in Germany, Dragonheart. We are indoor/outdoor cats, but Mom keeps her eye on us when we are outside, so we have lots of fun and it's fairly safe for us. So nice you get to go outside in your harness and in your stroller. Germany looks like a beautiful country.
Your FL furiends,
That's a cool list DH! We don't think we would like a gravelly ride either. Sounds too bumpy.
Thanks for wishing our Paw a Happy Purrfday!
Luf, Us
I LOVE your stroller, I have never seen a yellow one before! I am still trying to convince my Mum that I desperately need a stroller, sigh.
You are braver than I am dear Dragonheart! I am happy watching the gartens from inside on my windowsill perch.
Wow! You gots a stroller and a harness. Mom tried those harness things and it did not go well. She said the whole neighborhood would laugh if she had a stroller with cats in it. But it is okay because we haff a deck and a backyard, I mean garten with a fence.
Do you get cold in winter? Do have sweaters and stuff to wear in winter?
lovely garden.. and very cool wheels you have!
Hi Dragonheart,
We've been meaning to ask some of you cats who stroll what kind of reactions you get from people on the streets. We really did not know cats strolled till we started blogging. For 15.5 years we just let Mosaic Lady know when we want to go out, and come in, and go out, and come in, and go out, and come in...and on and on like that, about once an hour, for 15.5 years. Works for us!
Lately we keep hearing/reading about indoor only cats and while ML would love to find one who would accept that, all of us have loved to be outside a lot, in our youth, during the days. We're not sure we want her reading cat blogs any longer, to be honest, since now she is getting all "neuro" on our behinds about the "outdoor access" issue.
We may end up in fur fam therapy to work this through. Especially if we get a fourth cat soon! How will it be raised? Indoorish or outdoorolic?
Congratulations on winning one of Laffin's prizes!
As you know, we're indoor/outdoor. Once Dad moved in with us 13 years ago, he was home during the day and catering to our needs. We got used to more and more freedom. Mom used to let us out only under supervision. Well, there's no turning back now. Once we tasted that freedom we wanted more and more of it. There is NO WAY she is going to keep us cooped up now that dad is gone. NO WAY!
~J&B
I like the outdoors much more than old Bathsheba now. I even like to lie in the scratchy grass that is dry from our drought.
~Jake
I have repeatedly put in orders for one of those harnesses with My Lady and she has yet to produce one for me. I think that I will demand a shopping trip for this weekend. It's imperative that she listens to me.
Hi Dragonheart! That's a great TT! We are also wondering if you get sunburned when you are outside on your harness and if you have to be careful or wear sunscreen. Congrats on winning that Best Budz frame - you deserve it!
Purrs,
Mr. Chen & Ollie
I wish I could spend more time outdoors lately.
I'm not sure how Luna thinks about the outdoors, though.
DH, do yoo go owtside in the NOOD??? Arn't yoo freezing kold win yoo do that??? Plus imberrussing for the naybers to see yoo withowt clothes?
It's not midnight here yet and I had to come visit for TT. So glad I did! I've often wondered if you go outside and now I know. You spoiled kitty you, look at your ride! You should have 'open questions to Dragonheart'. I'm so curious about you. Not stalking curious, just no-hair curious :o)
I love the pictures of you outside in your harness, especially the one of you looking through the fence. I really like your stroller, too. Don't mind the funny looks. People always do that when they see something new.
Skeeter here: I know what you mean about bein outside. I don't like it much, thoug I do go out smetimes when The Big Thing does. It is 'citing, but but I don't do it often.
How fun! Vader is an inside kind of guy too. He likes his walks in the park, but would prefer to run free like he does inside.
