Old Fashioned
This week's theme was hard for us, because we Sphynx are the opposite of old-fashioned! We are still a fairly new breed - the first Sphynx was born in 1966. Also, we are indoor-only cats, so we don't have any old-fashioned toys (ie. real mice or other animals). Our food isn't old-fashioned either - Dragonheart eats prescription venison food, and Merlin eats 100% organic, 100% hormone-free, 100% antibiotic-free, and grain-free food. So, we aren't old-fashioned at all.
Finally, we found this photo in our humans' photo collection. They were in Prague in March 2007 to run a half-marathon. This is a photo of the Astronomical Clock in Prague. And old-fashioned way of telling time! (Although quite modern when it was built in 1410!) You can find more information on the Astronomical Clock here.

That astronomical clock is very pretty - and perfect for this week's theme. Have a lovely, purry weekend.
I have never seen anything like that before. It's really interesting and it is amazing that it is still running!
That was interesting to look at!
Fascinating clock, and beautiful too!
The clock is amazing, so advanced in its time and so historical for these times.
Best regards to your humans.

We can't tell time, but it's a lovely clock just the same... as for old-fashioned: you two are thousands of year "old"... being "sfnxx" and you are among the most beautiful, elegant, treasured and majestic creations of society.
WOW! That looks amazing! Beautiful photo too:)
It is a truly beautiful clock. My human is in Prague all next week on a shoot for a TV commercial. I hope she gets to see this clock. FAZ
I had a laugh reading the list of food you and Merlin had. That's real nice and rich. Good food anyway.
I heard a lot about Prague. they do have many wonderful sites for visit. Great shot for the week :)
That is PURRfect you two!!! As always.
Happy weekend to you both, and your human resources too!!!

That's an amazing clock - and a great choice as 'old fashioned' - at almost 600 years old it has to qualify.

I have never seen one before. Even if I do, I may have to figure out what I am looking at. It certainly is old-fashioned.
Mine is up too.
Hmm its unique and you cannot find that anywhere ots antique.
I have never seen anything like that!
Perfect for this theme!
This looks so classic!
Perfect photo for this week's theme! Mine's up too :)

Purrs Mickey
Very interesting clock. Cool photo.
This makes me want to travel. Seeing all the wonderful new places and things is exactly why I'm doing photohunt. Thank you!
nice pick for the theme.. :)
have a great weekend!
Yup, that would qualify as an old, old fashioned clock!
Absolutely beautiful!
That clock looks very interesting- I'll have to go check out your links about it.
Mom loves old clocks and old architecture. So she loves this photo!
Wow! That is so purty!
Even though the Abyssinian breed isn't a new breed, we don't have any photos of early Abys. The oldest one we have is one of my Great Great Grandma and she looks just the same as any of us now... So I'z picked one of My Mummy's photos too! :)
That Astronomical Clock looks pretty cool :)
Oh, my female human has the same photo of the clock in Prague! She was there years ago when she was just sweet 16.
Great choice for today! Quite old-fashioned.
That's a very interesting looking clock. First time I've heard and seen an Astronomical Clock. Thanks for sharing.
Yeah fascinating! Very old one! Very pretty. You did a good job taking photo of that beautiful clock!Mine is up too Happy weekend!
This is very very interesting~!!!
Thanks for let me see this!!!!!
Our Mommy loves the clock. She likes old fashioned things. We had trouble with the theme too. We wound up with a paper sack. Apparently some OLD FASHIONED grocery stores still use them. The Grandparents send some home when the folks visit.
Your humans made a great choice for this week!! :-)
Happy Weekend.
now that is a pretty cool photo!!
Whoa! That is very cool!
Thank you for showing us that wonderful clock, it is very unique.

Oh boy. Mom got all acited thinking about going to Prague. Maybe this year they will go.
You two eat the right kind of food. All that yucky stuff wif all da fillers an junk just makes us kitties sick.
great find! that's about 600+ years!
Beautiful example! You know, funny, you've reminded me... my youngest sister can't tell time from a traditional clock... just astounds me.
Dragonheart, from what we have heard of Sphynx from you, you all have many of the best meezer characteristics!
What a neat looking clock. I don't remember if I ever heard of the clock before.
Nice one - glad you guys dug in your humans' photo archives! Prague is one of the cities that's on my "to-go-to" list. I'll make sure to look up that clock, if I ever arrive there...
Happy weekend! :)
That's a beautiful clock and great that your humans went to Prague to run the half marathon. Have a great weekend.
That's a very beautiful and original clock !
Awesome clock such workmanship i love it
Oh yes, you two are much too up-to-date to be considered old-fashioned in any way!
You managed to find a very interesting entry though - I didn't know of that clock.
That is a beautiful clock. Our mum once had a penfriend from Prague and she came and visited her in England. It was in the 60's when Czechoslovakia was invaded, and her penfriend had to cut short her stay and go home quickly.Mum never heard from her again. She often thinks of her and hopes every thing turned out all right.
hi dragonheart and merlin,
that is a great picture of the astronomical clock!
i enjoy reading your blog! i am tagging you for the nicknames meme, so stop by my blog for the info!

That´s a very pretty clock. We´ve not been to Prague, yet, but there´s a good chance for a visit this year.
We have to see the astronomical clock for sure!
Happy hunting und schönes Wochenende =)
I love those old clocks, especially the mechanical ones like the one in Munich and the Strasbourg clock. Excellent choice.
That clock is absolutely old fashioned. Very good choice for the theme. Thanks for dropping by.
It's a lovely old fashioned clock. Happy Sunday.
Thanks for sharing this great clock with us today..The two of you would look cool roaming around the house I posted on my blog today..hugs to my furry friends...
That's nice that your mom and dad let you use one of their pictures.
Thanks for stopping by mine!
Very nice clock!
Very cool clock!
Wow, that is really cool. Mom wants to go read all about it, but we made her write you first. Mom says you can be a new breed and still have old fashioned values, like being the nice gentleman cat that you are.
Roxy & Lucky
Our beans has visited that clock! THey likes Prague a lots . . . there are lots of old fashioned buildings there!
Great old-fashioned photo!
Yup, we'd say a 598 year old clock qualifies as old fashioned!
Wow, built in 1410 and it can still tell time! Is it like a cuckoo clock where little figures come dancing out of the top windows??
Thanks for reminding me of my trip to Prague a few years ago. The clock is a great choice for this week's theme.
Wow - I didn't realize that your breed is that young. Thank you for sharing the information.
I think the clock you have found is just perfect for this week's theme. Thank you for sharing.
Have a great week.
wow, that looks like a very complicated way of telling time!! lol =P thanks for sharing, lovely shot.
Wow, I think that's the first non-cat themed Photo Hunt entry I've seen on this blog! ;b
That is one impressive and OLD old-fashioned clock. What a great photo!

Arriving in Prague in the Winter was like a dream come true for me as to gaze across the snow covered rooftops was like something straight out of a fairy tale...
Right from the moment I took my first walk around the old town in the evening mist of my first night, I instantly felt as though I had been swallowed up by its astounding history from its first founding just over a millennia ago.
We booked a room in Prague hotel right in the center of the Old Town - wanting to be close to everything. The old town square is simply breathtaking, presided over majestically as it is by the town hall and the dominating presence of the monolithic Church of Our Lady before Tyn. A short five minute walk from the square has you standing on the banks of the Vltava River gazing in awe at the medieval masterpiece of the Charles Bridge - in fact the only thing that can possibly tear your eyes from this visual feast is the simply stunning presence of Prague Castle and St Vitus Cathedral standing proudly watching over the city on the opposite bank.
And that is just the beginning of visual treats that Prague has to offer... :-)
