Mancat Monday

Here's another digital scrapbook layout my mom made of me. A Mancat always keep a close watch on his yard and everything that's going on outside.

Dragonheart(Click to view a larger version. Credits for the layout can be found here.)

Thanks everyone for your purrs, prayers, and suggestions. I did see my vet last Thursday night, and she gave me a shot and pills to take, and now we are just waiting for lab results.

I'm not eating any new food. I eat the same, high-quality, grain-free, organic food I always have, and I'm drinking plenty of water.

I'm still active and playing, and eating fine, although I seem to have lost an appetite for my stinky goodness - but I'm eating plenty of crunchies, and drinking more water to compensate for not eating the wet food.

I had one normal litterbox trip yesterday (a little soft, but that's normal for me, probably because of my fast Sphynx metabolism), but then last night I had blood on my bum again and I was very, very stinky. So I guess all we can do is wait to hear from the vet.

Thanks again for your purrs and prayers. My humans and I appreciate them.

Update: 15:18 (3:18 PM) Munich time. Well, my mom has noticed me "scooting" my bum across the bed and on the bath mat, and her online searches reveal this can be a sign of anal sac "fullness" or infection, or a sign of parasites. The vet tests should let us know if it's parasites, so we're just waiting for the results right now. The vet office re-opens at 16:00 (4:00 PM) (they are open in the mornings, and again in the evenings) so we are hoping they have the results back today, but they may not be back until tomorrow. At any rate, my mom is going to call the vet to tell them about my "scooting." She just needs to figure out how to describe that in German! The two female vets speak very good English, but the vet techs' English isn't as good.

You look very mancatly on your fleece keeping guard over your garden. I really, really hope that the vet tests show what's wrong and that it's nothing serious. I am praying for you.

Hi Dragonheart... my mommie used to think with the bean girls, and with us too, that if we are not eating a certain food, that is okay. So hopefully the vet will come up with some results soon. Mommies guess is that there might be a food allergy or intolerance going on with the canned stuff. Prinnie gets that sometimes.

YOU DO look wonderful in these poses. You are so manly protecting the family from outside intruders.

Happy Day frootbatfriend <3

We hope your vet can figure it out and dat it's nothing serious. It's not fun for our beans to see stuff like dis even if it doesn't bother us that much. Sometimes I think our mom's worry too much, but without that we might get really sick and no one would notice!

Is it really stinky? I had that when I first came here but my butt leaked poo too. Latte was scooting and we think that was the anal sack thing. I'm sure you'll be better soon! Not eating stinky goodness is OK, maybe you just want solid foods right now.

We's sorry to hear that you's still not feeling good. We hope the vet can figure out what's happening and that you'll get to feeling better soon. Midnite drags her butt on the rug sometimes too but it usually means she has poo stuck to her butt. Get better soon Dragonheart.

I'm keeping my paws crossed here, but would also like to know how your Mom manages to explain your scooting to the Vet Tech! ;) My Mummy remembers going round Europe with an Australian friend who kept telling everyone she was a "soap flake" in German when she really meant to say - I can't speak German! ;)

Oh, Dragonheart! Your poor 'tocks. I hope that your test results come back quick and the V-E-T figures out what's going on back there. Lots of hugs and purrs to all of you. I know your mom and dad are really worried. Feel better soon, DH.

What a bee-yootiful scrapbook page of you, Dragonheart! And I'm glad you're feelin' purretty good but I'm so sorry you're still havin' trouble. I'm glad you're keepin' us all updated -- alla us Ballicai are purrin' and purrin' fur you. You are a wunnerful kitty and we want you back to 100% very soon!

Thankies so much fur your purrs for my sistur Brainball -- she is doin' a lot bettur today, eatin' bettur and Brainballin' around and doin' her Alpha Cat patrols (YAY!); she's also gettin' in more naps, though, which is good. Momma thinks she still needs some more good bathroom trips before she feels 100%. But she's much bettur and Momma will keep an eye on her to make sure she keeps gettin' bettur or else she still might have to go to the v.e.t.

Kittyhugs and purrs from MaoMao!

Well, good thing you thought to "scoot" on da bed linens 'cause da floor is dirty!

The Lee County Clowder said...

Dragonheart, we hope things are doing better for you.

It occurred to us that if your mom has a video camera, 30 seconds of you scooting around on your bum would save a whole lot of explaining. Whether you would appreciate (or even allow) such a recording you and your mom would have to decide.

Or maybe you could go scooting around in the vets office.

Dragonheart, we are all purring here that it is nothing serious!!!!
You might not be aware of it but the maid is German, she grew up in Kassel, went to University and stayed for many many years in Berlin, and her favorite cousin is living in Fuerstenfeldbruck!
She is a native German speaker and claims to be fluent - but doesn't know how to say "scooting" in German either!!!! The best that comes to her mind would be: "Mit dem Hintern Schleifspuren hinterlassen".
I hope the results come soon and you can be treated and will be o.k.
Gute Besserung! (I picked up a bit of German from the maid)

Dragonheart....mommy wants you to tell the German Vet that you might have "Analbeutelverstopfung" and to describe your actions as "Umherrutschen auf dem Boden mit dem Hintern". This should help get the point across to them.
I do hope it is just a small infection and that you will be all better again real soon dearest brother.
I have been purrrrring for you and will until you are all recovered.
Lots of love from Peachy
